When I was in high school on the varsity basketball team (go Hornets!), I remember the music mix that would play while we were warming up on the court before games. The music was fast paced and the lyrics were energized. I loved our songs, but I remember feeling a bit envious of the warm-up tunes of a rival team, the Warriors. When we were on this team’s court, and the song ‘I am the Warrior’ by Patty Smyth came on, our coaches would take us to the locker room for a quick pep talk as we tried to ignore the rowdy energy that the other team was brewing up. They would get so amped up; it was intimidating. And we just wanted it to pass. Without knowing or understanding it, they were utilizing the power of the subconscious mind to boost their energy and improve their performance.
You see, they were using three key subconscious processes, the senses (music and movement) emotion and symbolism. There was a meaningful and personalized connection between the song lyrics and their identity (Warrior mascot), and in combination with a precise mantra in the lyrics (I am the warrior). This was a turning point in their warm-up. The other teams could feel it.
There are many outside forces intending to program us into thinking and behaving the way they want us to. These include the barrage of marketing ads leading us to buy what we don’t need, news reports fueling us with anger and fear about things we have little power to change, and past limiting ideas and social conditioning instilled in us since birth. All this programming leaves us thinking and acting in ways that don’t necessarily align with our authentic selves.
There is a way to change your status from one who is “programmed” to being the ultimate programmer. Instead of falling prey to the outside influence, you can consciously choose the way you think and therefore feel and act.
Yes, I know. Change can be a big scary concept that many people run from in terror because they think:
Sensory Anchoring™ changes all that.
It makes changing fun and sensual, and deeply connects you to your desires. It’s a powerful way to train your mind. The Sensory Anchoring™ technique builds upon a Neuro-Linguistic Programming concept called anchoring that interrupts existing unwanted thought patterns to pave the way for new, preferable choices.
In combination with hypnotic suggestions, Reiki and sensory stimuli like aromatherapy or music, the Sensory Anchoring™ technique helps you craft a specific state or mood (habitual combination of thoughts and emotions) and then creates a subconscious connection to it with a Sensory Anchor.
Using Sensory Anchoring™ can:
